Here's some info on using Time Machine. If you find any mistakes, please let me know and I will correct them. Perform the below steps at your own risk as I can't guarantee that I didn't make any mistakes.

1. Have your drive plugged in and turned on.
2. Press VO-M twice to get the TimeMachine menu. [I'm going to write TM instead of Time Machine from now on.]
3. Arrow down until you get to open TM preferences and press enter.
4. Once the window opens, navigate with VO left and right arrows until you find the change disk button. VO space on it. 5. You should get a dialogue with a table of disks. Interact with the table and VO right or left until you hear the name field and then up and down until you hear the name of your drive. 6. Stop interacting with the table and then VO right and left until you hear the table read out with the current selection and verify that it is the drive you intend to use.
7. VO space the use disk button.
8. Read the preferences screen and verify that TM is doing a backup. You might hear a count-down of how many seconds before it starts. 9. If you hear off or on buttons, those control TM's automatic backup settings. Press off to turn it off or on to turn it back on. Even if you turn it off, you can still do manually started backups. 10. I recommend leaving automatic backups on unless you have a good reason for turning them off and doing manually started backups. To do a manually started backup, VO-M twice and select Backup Now.

Subject: [macvoiceover] setting up time machine

Hi,
Can anyone walk me through the process of setting up time machine?
I have a hard drive and it's set up, but I don't know how to set up the preferences in time machine because voice over doesn't read everything to me.

Thanks, Nicole>
