[macvoiceover] selecting text in textedit seems so hard, why???, help pls!

Hello,
I discover very strange problems while selecting text (rtf/txt format) in
textedit.
While quicknav is on/off , I hold down the shift key while moving the arrow
keys to select the text but voiceover is saying nothing.
The way it works: 2 times clicking with the mouse and then I can move with the
arrow-keys while the shift key is pressed, and quicknav is off.
Why is this so difficult or it's perhaps a bug that selecting with the
shift-keys isn't working?
