Podcasts are not necessarily very big as they are mp3 audio files. They are 
bigger than text files but smaller than video files.
But, I like to keep my machine clean and agree to delete things that are not 
valid or you can replace if you ever have the time to go back and repeat a 
listen.
If you have an audio editing program like Amadeus or even Garage band, there 
are ways to select out of a podcast just the particular information you 
require, such as technical information or other specifically useful material 
that you know you are going to want to refer to again.
