Marti, When you put in the dvd, a folder opens with three things, this is assuming you have the machine already booted. install mac os x, instructions and optional installs folder. open this folder andrun the optional installs.mpkg and choose what you want to install after clicking through the various screens to get to the table.

Hi David, let's say you choose the custom install, and don't want to install certain things that you find you may need later, when you put in the dvd, how does it know not to install the whole operating system again, or, are you given a dialog where you can select what to install, or is that done when mac osx can't find what it wants like the other platform, and you have to put the dvd in to install what it needs?
