[macvoiceover] new MBP not able to see the net when the network is working

I'm helping someone set up a new MBP out of the box. Everything is going well,
but her mac gives a "no internet connection," allert on the same network as I
am currently using. Her router lets me connect to the net, and shows her 4
bars, but has no connectivity. What can I do to fix this?
