[macvoiceover] mail sounds not playing

Hi there,
After doing a re install of my OS and configuring everything and making sure I
had the latest updates, I find now that my mail sounds will not play. The
sounds are checked in the mail options window. I ccan't get any of the sounds
to play. I can get the usual voice over sounds to play just fine. Is there
any way, short of a re install all over again that I can recover my mail
sounds? I have no time machine backups at this time.
