David,

That sounds like a great suggestion! They do say many Mac problems can be solved simply by killing off an application's preferences and forcing it to recreate them.

The only other thing I can think of, off the top of my head, might be to select your mailbox in the Mailboxes list, go to the Mailboxes item in the menu bar, and select the "Rebuild" option. NOt sure it'll work, but it's worth a try, and won't harm anything.

Take care,

Ron

Worth a try might be to rename the mail.plist. it is located in the library/preferences folder and is called apple.com.mail.plist. You will want to have mail closed for this and then relaunch it and it will be recreated. The only thing is that you may have to go through settings aftwards and recustomize them.

As I said, David, I've tried that several times. It just isn't working for some reason. Btw, I am running snow lepard.

sorry, threading is a different topic, you will find sort by columns and treading in the view menu. if you want to sort in reverse order by column, find the column heading in the message list and press vo-shift-\.

How do I accomplish this?

well, there's threading and sorting on different fields via their column headings.

Hi, all,
I am having an issue with mail.
For some weird reason, my mail messages are not being sorted properly. The date received is going all over the place when I read emails. I've tried everything you can think of, all of which is in the view menu.
Any thoughts?
