I thought of this too but didn't mention it because it has been working for her
before so she would have had to have changed the function keys setting for that
to happen. The function keys setting is in System Preferences > Keyboard and in
the keyboard tab. You want to check the box for using F1, f2 etc as standard
function keys. Then you will not need to use the fn key but just control-f2 and
control-f3.

Try using the control key in conjunction with the function key. It may be set

I was working with my mac, usually, I pressed control f2 to activate apple
menu, and control f3 to open doc, but these commands now just disappeared,
and I can’t understand how I did it!
Any idea how to put them back?
Using MacBook pro on OS Sierra.
Thank you in advance for any help.
