Lots of good questions,
Yes some of the folks on the list are using OCR apps.
Word processor program.
For light things I am using TextEdit which comes with the mac. For a little
heavier work I use Pages and Nisus Writer which seems to handle all of my word
processing needs.
I use the mac for everything I can think of.
I have not used a Windows computer for nearly 6 years now.
