[macvoiceover] laptop

Hi all, I am getting a new mac book pro. Please tell me the fololowing
1. How do I set it so I don't have to use the fn key each time I use one of the
f keys, such the dock is control f-3 and unless I change something I will have
to use fn-control-f3 to get there.
2. How do I sett it so right option t will read the time and so on.
I realize these are dumb questions after having an imac for as long as I have,
however I have never used a laptop, please forgive my not having the answers
myself. Thanks Don
