Hey, Frank I didn't know you got a Mac. Give me a call on Skype and I can help you. Glad to see you on this side of the fence. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Frank Ventura" <Frank.Ventura@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>

Bob.
You'll find text edit is quite adequate for most needs, including
reading word files.
It isn't up to the task of writing a term paper with footnotes,
indexes, appendices, and so on, but for most day to day tasks, it is
well within the capabilities of what most folks need.
The name text edit is a bit misleading, as it's considerably more than
a simple text editor. Give it a try, then see if you still need
another program for your work, most of the time, the answer is no,
though other applications do exist if you find you still need
additional features text edit doesn't provide.

Hi listers,

My name is Bob Hill, and I just joined the list.

I'm new to Leopard and Voice Over, but used a Mac with outSPOKEN
prior to system 9.x.

I just picked up an Imac this past Wednesday, so am just getting
started with things.

Trying to get my head around VO, the mail program, and Safari, up to
this point.

What are you all using for a word processor? Is Iworks accessible
with VO?

I know that there are articles on "icanworkthisting" for aspects of
VO, but is there a manual of somekind which might be in a text file,
or something like that which I can obtain, so I can put it onto a
Braille Lite Millennium, so I can have it at my fingertips.

Thanks for any assistance.
