Hi
Unfortunately no voiceover on the iPod touch yet. According to Apple accessibility, Voiceover requires the updated hardware and new processor in the latest iPhone. Perhaps we'll see Voiceover available in the next generation of Touch, but knowing Apple we won't find that out until they release it, and so far they've not announced any plans for a 3rd gen touch at all let alone plans to put Voiceover on it. If you need a talking iPod, you might look into the current generation (4th generation) of iPod Nano. They are able to speak most of their functions, although it's not a true screen reader but recorded prompts that are generated by your computer and placed on the Nano when you put content on it.

Hey all,
I'm new to this list and am hopefully getting a Mac Book Air really soon (which I'm really looking forward to)!!! I've heard that the new iPhone now comes with Voice Over, which makes the touch screen accessible - and that is really, really a great step forward in accessibility, I think :-) I probably won't get the iPhone yet, as I have a Nokia N82 and don't really want another phone. But, is it true that iPod Touch also has Voice Over? I've heard that the new Firmware for the iPod comes with Voice Over, but is that actually true? Would be great if anyone could get me up to date with that, thanks!
Robin

The major difference between a thing that might go wrong and a thing that cannot possibly go wrong is that when a thing that cannot possibly go wrong goes wrong it usually turns out to be impossible to get at or repair.
