Software Products - iBraille Print
iBraille is the first Braille Editor provided for Macintosh for many
years. It will be released during Q3 2006 for the visually impaired
and for all the persons that produce Braille documents. A pre-release
will be made available for a selected group by the end of Q2 2006.
iBraille can be used without prior Braille knowledge. It makes it
possible to import and/or create documents, convert the text into
contracted or un-contracted Braille, format the document and then
emboss it to Index Braille embossers.
Braille translation and Formatting on Macintosh OS X 10.4
iBraille supports import and copy of text from commonly used document
types on Macintosh OS X 10.4. Use iBraille to edit and format the
text before you perform the translation to contracted or un-
contracted Braille. Next, use iBraille’s advanced formatting features
such as header and footer handling or table and bullet formatting to
prepare the Braille document for Braille document production.
Drivers for Macintosh
iBraille utilizes the Drivers for the Index Braille embosser line for
the embossing. Set up the embosser properties such as paper format
and margins, duplex, z-folding and number of copies, all depending on
what the respective embosser model supports.
USB and Network Support
USB is of course supported. You can also connect the Index Braille
embosser to your network as a standard network printer and share it
with all users. Imagine a school for visually impaired with a number
of teachers and visually impaired pupils. Use iBraille to emboss
Braille over the network directly from each individual computer.
