The more I think about it, you just need more time, really. Everything is much simpler with the mac, but of all the things it's not a cumbersome, complicated OS. Want to install an APP? Just download it, and paste it wherever you want it. Want to uninstall it? Send it to the trash and if you want just delete a couple of pref files. This should give you an example of what I mean.

Donna,

First, as you have found, there is little linkage between the mac and the iphone but that they share the commonness of voiceover.

Second, you are being a bit harsh on yourself and the mac. How long did it take you to learn windows? how long have you actually been using your mac?

Now, I've got some answers that should help inline.

Hi all,

Ok maybe I’m just dense, but I’m really hating this thing. I’m finding the os to be cumbersome, and unnecessarily complicated, and the documentation to be frustratingly sparse. I am going to give it the rest of today, and if I don’t have more success, it’s going back to the store. Can someone on the list please answer the follwing questions:

1. In Safari, how does one open a new webpage. If one then wanted to save said webpage as the new home page, what would one do? (Oddly enough this is not addressed anywhere in the documentation that I can find. If you are looking for the familiar, it's command-l. That puts you on the address bar. Now, there's a bit of a trick to this so it is easier. press command-shift-a after pressing command-l and then delete/backspace. that empties the address bar. Now, press the space bar and type in the address you want to o to. before pressing enter, left arrow to the beginning of the line and right arrow once till you hear the space spoken and hit delete/backspace and press enter. This will load your new address.

2. When in a search field, what keystroke does one enter to indicate that one is done entering text, and would like to initiate the search? This depends on the search. some require nothing, they just compile the list as you type and you can use vo to keys to have a look, some accept the enter key.

I find that getting frustrated just gets me in trouble so I avoid it.

3. In the event that I am not satisfied by the end of the day, how do I remove my account from the computer, so that I can return it to the store?
I'd suggest yougive it at least one more if not two more weeks.
Thanks in advance for your help with this.
Best,
Donna
