I have placed a new copy of the utility program at:
http://www.cucat.org/projects/espeak/index.php

This one removes the annoying alert before speaking. The mbrola voices installer can now be downloaded as well.

I downloaded the file but whenever I try to have tit read text an allert pops up before the message is read. Also, didn't see controls for recording, but maybe I misunderstood. :)

Do I need to install anythignelse, like developer's tools?

Thanks so much Greg.

My only problem is: I can't figure out where espeak is to use it from the command line. If I just type "espeak" I get "command not found" so it must not be in my path. I haven't downloaded the newest however.
