Interesting Shane that you say you can deal with combo boxes ok. I always find things lock up when dealing with them, and I have to command tab away from the application I'm in, and back to it.

Yes, absolutely. I did tell Marty this last week. VO space will select the pop-up menu or the pop-up button. VO space will also select the check mark for the particular pop-up button or item. Where it gets a little tricky is when VoiceOver identifies the control as a combo box. In that case, you interact with it, move down to the item you want, and press return. That's how I do it, anyway. I have to say this, list members. I think it is very confusing when there are so many different ways of doing things, but that is the beauty of Mac OS X. There a many ways to get the same thing accomplished. Unfortunately, for the brand new user, which marty is most definitely, those of us who have been using Macs for a long time end up being way too confusing without even trying. This is exactly why I do not try to teach people to use the old Windows- style commands. It breeds nothing but confusion. Learn the new way of doing it on the Mac, and you won't be confused. This is just my opinion, and I will respect any others. :) No harshness meant in this message at all. I'm amazed every day that Mac users can do so many things with OS X, and they do it in many different ways. If the old Windows-style commands work for you, e.g. tab, shift-tab, enter, all that jazz, have at it. :) Marty, keep the faith, Buddy! You'll get it!!! It will all come to you as you go along. We've all been there, and we appreciate the frustration that you're going through. Keep asking for help!

When did this change? I've always done vo space on popups, arrowed down to the one I wanted and done vo-space to close.
