command-option-l doesn't take you into downloads progress window; it just takes you to the downloads folder which is in finder and i assume you are already seeing. To see the downloads progress, you have to go into the safari toolbar and do vokeys-space on the downloads button. that window then automatically closes when the download is completed so if the download is fast you may never even see a downloads button in toolbar. You can tell when a download is finished when looking at the downloads folder itself because when it is done you will just see the filename; while it is downloading it will have .download at the end of the file being downloaded. -- Cheryl May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable to You, Lord, my rock and my Redeemer.
