No, if you just burn the iso file, then the mac will just burn the iso image as a file to the disk, and you're out of luck. However, I've had good results with mounting the iso image first, then performing a command-a to select all on the root of the iso file system, then doing a burn to disk from there. That seems to get all files (including any hidden ones) and the cd usually boots. There are issues with this approach though, one of which is that sometimes, there are linked files on the cd, and if there are too many of them, the burned copy of the cd won't burn properly, because for some reason it makes new copies of the files instead of leaving the links in place.

Most of the time though, this isn't the case, so you're ok.
The alternative is to use a cd burning program that will burn the iso directly, such as toast or some other. I don't use any other burning software, just what's built into osx, and the softcon data/audio burn programs, so don't know what else works in this case. One of these days I'll actually get around to making a terminal app that simply produces a copy of an iso image directly onto a cd, but I've not gotten that far just yet. :)
