Cool, thanks for the quick run-down.

They compliment each other very well, I still find GB6.5 more accessible than
GB10.
GB is a multi-track application that can support audio tracks and midi
tracks, you have a collection of audio loops that you can insert, you can
record through your computer microphone, add effects and modify tracks,
adjust volume and pan, plus a lot more, then finally save as a complete
stereo file, either mp3 or aiff.

Amadeus is an audio processing application that is in my opinion easier to
work on an audio track than GB, such as removing silent gaps, pasting and
noise processing and inserrting fade in and outs, after which you have a
clean file to load into GB.
You can also record directly from your computer microphone into Amadeus.

For some features they both compare, but each has features the other doesn't.
They bnoth come with a useful bunch of processing tools.

There is a lite version for a little less than half the price, but I’m not
finding a description of what you don’t get with that one. I’m just thinking
of getting into recording, maybe a podcast, how does Amadeus stack up with
Garage Band?

The version I purchased was 1.5, a more recent version 2.0 has been released
which may cost more but has more features.
Not sure if 1.5 is still available at a lower price.

Something like $35 depending on what country you live in, I am in New

I think there are some guides for Audacity, however I had difficulgty a few
years back and eventually purchased Amadeus Pro which is very VO friendly
and I would recommend it to anyone who asked.
