Hi Donna,I moved to NZ a few months ago and start work out here as a psychological adjustment to disability and employment specialist in two weeks (or when immigration gets my paperwork sorted out).
Vodafone has posted a significantly high cost for the IPhone 3GS which will be released in a couple weeks. So, I am watching the prices for unlocked versions through online sellers and waiting for the price to drop a bit. My hope is that, by the time immigration has sorted out my work and residency permits, prices will have achieved a comfortable place for my budget. So, eventually I will be acquiring an IPhone. I just do not know when.

Hi David, NZ??? I thought you were in California.I haven’t had any problems with fingertaps other than that one call. But your point about how I hold the phone makes a lot of sense. I’ll pay atention when I make some practice calls later today, and let you know. Thanks for the suggestion. So, are you going to get one when they come out in NZ? They will not become available in NZ for another week. That said, I have worked as an ergonomic assessment advisor and an Assistive Technology teacher/trainer for people with various and multiple disabilities. I have a few thoughts about your problems with hanging up and your phone not switching to speaker phone. When you hold your IPhone to your ear and then take it away from your ear, how do you have your hand around your phone? If you are mainly holding the phone in the palm of your hand with your fingers wrapping around on to the screen, you could be confusing the touch sensor in to interpreting the phone still being against your face. If this is the case, it would not be able to interpret any taps or gestures.Do you have any problems anywhere else with two or three finger double or tripple taps? If there is delay between the fingers tapping, the sensor could be interpreting a touch then tap (split tap (where you select with one finger and tap with another finger)), or if your fingers are too close together, it could be interpreting one finger double or tripple tap.Again, as I do not yet have an IPhone, I am unable to test these gesture-related factors. I hope you are able to resolve your difficulties, and if you do figure out what has been occurring for you, please let me know so I can incorporate the knowledge in to my assessing and training (if necessary).David Chittenden, MS, CRC, MRCAA Donna Goodin wrote: Not yet. I wonder if that changes at the point that you actually begin speaking to leave a message. Not at all meaning to be contradictory but the double tap with two fingers should work. I know it took a few tries for me to get used to this and I still have to do it twice sometimes. Be careful though; a couple of times I've accidentallydonethree fingers and cut off speech though it's a toggle so I was abletoturn speech back on with three fingers double tap again.-- Cheryl"Where your treasure is, there will your heart be also."Click on the link below to go to our homepage. http://www.icanworkthisthing.comManage your subscription by using the web interface on the link below. //www.freelists.org/list/macvoiceoverUsers can subscribe to this list by sending email to macvoiceover-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx <mailto:request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx>with 'subscribe' in the Subject field OR by logging into the Web interface at //www.freelists.org/list/macvoiceoverClick on the link below to go to our homepage. http://www.icanworkthisthing.comManage your subscription by using the web interface on the link below. //www.freelists.org/list/macvoiceoverUsers can subscribe to this list by sending email to macvoiceover-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx <mailto:macvoiceover-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> with 'subscribe' in the Subject field OR by logging into the Web interface at //www.freelists.org/list/macvoiceoverClick on the link below to go to our homepage. http://www.icanworkthisthing.comManage your subscription by using the web interface on the link below. //www.freelists.org/list/macvoiceoverUsers can subscribe to this list by sending email to macvoiceover-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx <mailto:macvoiceover-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> with 'subscribe' in the Subject field OR by logging into the Web interface at //www.freelists.org/list/macvoiceoverClick on the link below to go to our homepage. http://www.icanworkthisthing.comManage your subscription by using the web interface on the linkbelow.//www.freelists.org/list/macvoiceoverUsers can subscribe to this list by sending email to macvoiceover-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx <mailto:macvoiceover-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> with 'subscribe' in the Subject field OR by logging into the Web interface at //www.freelists.org/list/macvoiceoverChecked by AVG - www.avg.com <http://www.avg.com> Version: 8.5.375 / Virus Database: 270.13.1/2212 - Release Date: 07/01/09 05:53:00Click on the link below to go to our homepage. http://www.icanworkthisthing.comManage your subscription by using the web interface on the link below. //www.freelists.org/list/macvoiceoverUsers can subscribe to this list by sending email tomacvoiceover-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx <mailto:macvoiceover-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx>with 'subscribe' in the Subject field OR by logging into the Webinterface at //www.freelists.org/list/macvoiceoverChecked by AVG - www.avg.comVersion: 8.5.375 / Virus Database: 270.13.1/2212 - Release Date: 07/01/09 05:53:00Click on the link below to go to our homepage. http://www.icanworkthisthing.com Manage your subscription by using the web interface on the link below. //www.freelists.org/list/macvoiceoverUsers can subscribe to this list by sending email to macvoiceover-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with 'subscribe' in the Subject field OR by logging into the Web interface at //www.freelists.org/list/macvoiceover
