Apple provides no way to see what's in the zip file w/o extracting it.
However, there is a finder type application Gordon pointed out on this list earlier, that will allow you to see what's in the zip files before extracting them. It has some bugs still (crashes a lot for me) but I can't remember what it's called, and I don't have it here on my minimac, and the macbook is on the other side of the house, and everyone is sleeping, so can't retrieve it at the moment. If it's not listed by tomorrow morning, I'll respond wit the name then, but if you do a search for finder replacement, you may be able to locate either that one, or another one that does what you want.

Hi All,

Well, I've finally got around to buying a MacBook and there's one problem that I can't figure out.

Is there a way to read the list of files inside a zip file with VoiceOver? If I press Command O, everything is extracted from the zip file.

I was hoping to avoid installing any extra software, but guess that I might have no choice.

regards.

Ian
