i am a little confused as you say there is no .band file but here you now say
there is a song.band folder and with that suffix it sounds like a file, will it
open in GB ?
Otherwise copy the aiff file, open GB, go to 0 on the timeline and paste.
then with the metronome on change the bpm and see if you can match the aiff
file.

Here’s how it comes across:
My Guy shared a folder in Drive.
In that folder there is a folder for song.band.
In the song.band folder there are folders for media, output, and contents.
In the media folder I found an aiff file, which seems to be what he recorded.
Fortunately the aiff file has the complete version of what he recorded, seems
like I can work with that as an audio file, I just can’t open his project
like it was one of my own.

folders, and eventually in a folder labelled media I found the aiff file.
My guitarist is a busy school principal, so I don’t want to push him too
much for an explanation or to try different things. Playing around, it
looks like he recorded at a steady tempo, maybe even to the click track at
the tempo I suggested, so I think I can just treat it like a region and add
some percussion to it.

One of our church guitarists recorded a track for me, now I need to know
what I can do with it. It was recorded in Garage Band, I have the MP3 he
exported, and he also shared the project with me through Google Drive.
When I open what he shared in Drive, thre is a folder, and then a bunch
of stuff within that folder. I eventually found an aiff file, which I
downloaded to m computer and was able to open in Garage Band, but it
seems to be behaving just like the MP3, an audio file with no other
information.

add some percussion using loops before I send it to our vocalists to work
with.
Any suggestions on how to go about this?
Can I work with the aiff or the mp3 like a regular region from one of my
