You can use TextEdit.

OPr you cna downloiad and install a package called LaTex and type out your papers in that; if done right, it will be neatly formatted for y ou as a PDF that you simply print out.

PS Also there's Bean, but I forget the URL. Forget Openoffice, Microsoft Office, or the like. Thney aren't accessible yet.
