I know it sounds hard but I can see where Keith is coming from here, we're talking about 2 different beasts entirely and that's where many problems arise I think in people comparing the Apple Mac with Voiceover and other Screen Readers. I won't go down that line either but consider this.

Because Voiceover is so radically different you have to be prepared I'm afraid to have a little patience and sit down for 2 minutes and forget JAWS or whatever because simply Voiceover is not JAWS, like comparing say a car with a bicycle, whilst both have wheels and get you from point A to point B they work differently.

Stacy,

If you want to compare screenreaders, find a list where you can do that.

This list is for learning how to use Voiceover.

Buy a MAC and if you don't like it, take it back. That is the only way you can tell which one is best for you.

Sure, but I see that as a fine question for someone considering a mac. When I person is trying to learn about something new and comparing to what they already have I see no question as a bad one, how else can one learn?

Hi all,

For people who used jaws and then went to a mac and voiceover, is jaws better? How do the two compare? I was talking about this with a friend of mine and she thought jaws was better, but had not really used vo.
I just wondered if someone could give me a comparison.
Thanks,
