Well, if you use a good backup software, you should be fine. If you have more than one drive you can use, make several backups, as well as manually coppying your files. Then... Just go for it! If you have a time machine backup, and everything goes wrong, just put in a mac OSX cd (10.6 when you have it, or your restore disks that should have come with your mac, and go into the utilities menu in the installer.

I don't know if it is for you, but for me it will be as I have demo programs that I never really got rid of and such lying around not to mention a Skype
install dmg that loads at startup but won't actually let me use skype so I
am just going to backup and whack everything but I am afraid to do this
because I don't trust backups.

Are people noticing any differences between upgrading and a clean install of snow leopard? I did the upgrade but if I wanted to try a clean install
now, I could update superduper and do a backup and then try the clean
install. Just wondering if the experiment is really a good use of my time
or not.
