I have both. I like the fact that the apple TV, can't remember which
version it is, I believe it is the latest one with 64 G, if going using an
app from a website, I can access videos all the way back to 014. Where as
the Fire stick using the same app, only gives me access to the last 3
months. Also, you can watch prime movies or content on the Apple TV. Thus,
I thought, why have a fire stick when you can get more on the Apple TV.
You'd still need a prime membership though.

The screenreader is not as functional as VO and it is sluggish.
I have an old apple tv also, and decided at the end of 2019 to buy the new one
due to my frustrations with the firesticks.
I hope this helps.

Hi Ian,
In my opinion, an Apple TV is not worth the premium price. I have one. But I
got it sometime ago, the generation after the one you have. If you get a fire
stick, you can get the Apple TV app for your fire stick. You can get Disney
plus, but I don’t know if description works on the stick. If that’s important
to you, you might want to research whether or not people can yet audio
described stuff on the fire stick. I think I heard that you can’t. there are
also rumors about new Apple TV coming out. In that case, they might drop the
price on remaining stock of older models, so you could get the Apple TV if
you want it for less. I guess it depends on how willing you are to learn a
new system and a new screen reader. And how much money you have to spare.
Smile.

Ok, hoping this still counts as worthy of the Voiceover list, I’m looking
at upgrading from my old Apple TV because it’s apps are restricted to the
ones loaded for you, and Disney+ isn’t going to be added. So, is a new Apple
TV worth the hefty price compared to an Amazon Fire TV unit? We’ll still
have our old Apple TV for Apple content.
Cheers,
Ian
