Yes sure. There's probably a million things I could have done. But I wanted to pay for the convenience of it being built and delivered to me rather than having to hunt for the ram somewhere and then having to install it. Anyway,
I changed from an Imac to a Mac Pro after speaking to another mate and he
reminded me about the difficulty of installing extra hardware into the Imac
like extra drives etc. I'm glad I changed cause the apple guy I spoke to
gave me decent discounts so I only ended up spending an extra 300 bucks than
I would if I'd gone ahead and bought the Imac for a mac pro with 8 cor 2x
2.8 quad cor processors and 2 gb memory 750gb hd etc. The good thing is
I'll be able to put extra ram later on if I need it by myself as the guy
told me it would be easy to do that. Still, I think it should be quick
enough and I don't have to put up with the 24 inch screen which I would have
been forced to have with the Imac. Also, I probably will be able put in my
couple of 1tb drives that I have on my other windows machines.

That's the latest and greatest but you could have saved about $300 on
the RAM by not ordering it from Apple.

Hi Everyone,

Well, I took the plunge and ended up buying an iMac With the following
configuration:

PROCESSOR: 3.06GHZ INTEL CORE 2 DUO
MEMORY: 4GB 800MHZ DDR2 SDRAM - 2x2GB
GRAPHICS: NVIDIA GEFORCE 8800 GS W/512MB
HARD DRIVE: 500GB SERIAL ATA DRIVE
MOUSE: APPLE MIGHTY MOUSE
APPLE KEYBOARD & USER'S GUIDE
COUNTRY KIT: COUNTRY KIT,IMAC 24-AUS (whatever that is).
24 inch screen but I wish I could have gotten a smaller one.
I think that should keep me out of trouble for a while. :).

I just want to take this opportunity to thank all of you who have
given me
invaluable help in the last few days. Thanks to your information, I
am sure
I will make the smooth transition from Windows to the Mac. However,
I will
always love the Windows interface and still will keep my Windows
machines
until I have completely mastered Leopard and the Mac.
