I'm not experiencing crackling on my mac mini in vmware fusion. Maybe i'm not trying to do whatever causes it or maybe it's because I'm using a firewire sound card from Grifin and also have used the usb sblive on the mac. But I don't remember crackling even using built-in audio. The only thing i've ever gotten is some speech distortion that was remedied by rebooting; this was occasional. I'd certainly look at other sound options before I gave up my wireless. However, since I'm having some usb issues that other people aren't remoting--can't connect my Victor Reader Stream and have it recognized correctly as it turns off, can't upgrade my cell phone from wm6.0 to 6.1 because of same problem even though I can use active sync fine--I'm not at all claiming that the crackling isn't a problem just because I seem to have somehow escaped that one.
