Turning off Quick Nav was a big help.  Keith, thanks for the link to the guide. 
 Unfortunately, my agency has the URL www.icanworkthisthing.com blocked, so I 
will have to see if they'll open it up for me.

Hi Ray,

As Ash said, holding down the left and right arrow keys together will turn it 
off, but, it is a toggle, so it will turn it on as well.
