Hi everybody. I've been following this thread with interest but have a question. Has anyone used Omnipage with a Mac? I've been using Omnipage under-windows for years and think it has the best OCR engine around from my experience of seeing scans done by other programs. I'd like to purchase it for the Apple, but it is very expensive and I've asked about getting some sort of price break because I've been upgrading my Windows version since Omnipage 5 or so -- going way back to when I got the program with a Cannon printer many many years ago. No luck getting any deals, but it hasn't left my choice of options if I could get documents to transfer back into word with Windows correctly. Just wondered how Omnipage works with Apple.
Also wondering about Pages and Nisus Writer. Is Nisus Writer still more accessible? I would really like to go with Apple, but I have problems when I type on Apple and the .doc file just doesn't transfer correctly when I go back to Windows, which my clients are using. Fonts and page layouts can change and I haven't found a work-around for this yet. Hopefully some day! My sister says I should just get MS Word for Mac, but I understand that is not accessible but could be wrong on that.
Anyway, this is a wonderful list and I am glad to have the opportunity to post now and again. Best of the holidays to all, whatever you celebrate!
