Sounds like the new garage band will be able to do this and will be
accessible. I would hold off and see what comes up with this New ILife 11.

Actualy I use amadeus pro to do all of that wwork. Granted spliting the file
by marker which I believe is the only option names the split files accoridn
g to the markers but it is doable.

You can filter and do all of that stuff in amadeus.

Good luck.

here are some questions, and thanks so much in advance for any and all
feedback.

hours at a time, thus producing very large files. Since I am a presenter, I
won't always be able to leave the main conference auditorium to turn off the
recording equipment after each presentation. Will GarageBand let me split
larger files into smaller ones without introducing too much degradation in
the quality of the recordings? I assume that this is possible, but I just
want to make sure.

GarageBand have filtering tools which might help allay this concern?
