xcode offers many different development platforms and some of them can even be run from the terminal. The ruby scripting language along with python and perl are three other alternatives. On Wed, 24 Nov 2010, Laura wrote:

Hi

I was just wondering what people use to develop programs on the Mac? I am the
definition of a novice when it comes to this, but I'd like to learn--preferably
object-C, I think. I seem to remember some discussion that Xcode wasn't
accessible, but I could be misremembering. Any advice/pointers would be most
welcome.

cheers,
