Dear listers,
I have just updated my macbook air to the latest El Capitan version. I am
experiencing strange voice over behaviour in both text edit and pages. I have
had it confirmed by sighted assistance. Can anyone else reproduce this as it
has not happened on my mac mini.
When in either programme, voice over announces characters and words as
normal. They do not, however, appear visually on the page. If I toggle voice
over off and back on the words then appear. This might not seem to be a major
problem, but there is more. Neither the delete/back space button nor the
navigation keys are acting as expected. With voice over onbackspacing on a
word visually moves the cursor over the letters but not deleting them, even
though it sounds like they are. Again, toggling vo off and on shows the
deletion visually. Finally the navigation keys are not acting as before. My
usual command to go to the foot of a document - v o fn shift and down now
only take me to the foot of page one.
I am going to report this to apple next but was hoping you could provide a
faster solution as I use these apps in my degree course.
Many thanks in advance
