i don't particularly like him either. they tried to make him so natural that
sometimes words are slurred together so you have to check whether you spelled
them right.

It’s the breathing in sound they programmed in to make it more natural
sounding that bugs me. I don't know any humans that breathe in that way. He
also sounds like he’s a bit bummed out, I’ll see if a pitch change changes
that.
I also don’t like the Irish voice Moira, but that’s just because she
mispronounces my wife’s Irish origin name Eileen.

I find that Alex is the ost stable voice, but I really don’t like it. Just
a preference, his attitude just bugs me. I’ve found sluggishness to be a
problem when I first switch to a voice, but then things get better. No clue
why this might be. The other thing you may notice is how different voices
treat dates diffferently, the American voices read the American date format
correctly etc. It can be a bit confusing. I find the Ava voice to be stable
and pleasant, I know others have had nothing but trouble with it. I also
find Tom to be pretty stable, and it is also used as a system voice, no
clue if that has anythign to do with that.

Ian,
I finally, after screwing around, got a different voice installed. I
noticed, on the other hand, sluggishness in key selection and movement in
the VO command triple key menu. As I have in the past using windows and
jaws, I end up trying various voices and then eventually I go back to the
default voice; haha.
