For me I don't click on anything; I just touch and it doesn't seem to matter
where I touch as long as I am in the status bar. But I'm sure there are lots of
techniques for doing this and you end up sticking with the one that seems to
work for you consistently.

I tried and tried to turn over a new leaf.
I got crumpled wads of tear-stained paper
thrown in the trash!
Then God gave me a new heart and life:
His joy for my despairing tears!
And now, every day:
"This I call to mind,
and therefore I have hope:
The steadfast love of the Lord
never ceases;
his mercies never come to an end;
they are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness."

Ok here is the way it works for me.
First of all go up to the top of the phone and click on the orientation lock,
now do the 3 finger swipe up.
