no it does not. Also I have encountered the issue where when you log in using the web it says your account is disabled. I had this happen to 8 student accounts in the lab that I use for teaching. I had to click on I can't access my account and answer the questions. They did resolve it.

Hi John
Thanks for sharing this. I've not encountered this particular issue as of yet, but I've encountered an issue that may, on the surface, appear similar. Just to let everyone know what I've experienced, if one of GMail's servers is experiencing difficulties--usually the SMTP, but sometimes the IMAP--you'll get this issue as well, i.e. it will continuously ask for your password. So if you log into your web account and don't get the security code, then the servers are having trouble.

By the way, what's the reason for GMail asking for a security code when you encounter this? Does it give an explanation for why it's asking you to give verification?

Good evening all. I feel this is something that should be shared after what I experienced with GMail. All is well and the issues are resolved. If any gmail users use mail to access there gmail accounts and keep getting please enter password, log on to the account using Safari. What should happen is when you try to log on you will be asked to enter your password again along with the characters you see on the screen. There is a link to listen to them and this may have to be done two or 3 times. In other words, you will have to listen, enter, listen, enter and listen again and enter again. Now, after doing this you may find that even though you can log on to the web u can't get the mail using the mail client. Simply delete the google account from the mail client and then recreate it again. All will be well and the thousands of messages will now download to your account. I don't know why the account has to be recreated but this worked for me. GMail is an excellent service and these little stumbling blocks are a small price to pay for a service that offers so much. Thanks for your time and Attention.
