Hi there, Sara and others.

You can turn down the brightness of your screen by pressing the function key+f1 repeatedly until you have reached the desired brightness. Function+f2 will turn it up. There is no audio feedback while doing this, btw. You can also adjust this in preferences under the "Displays" section and that is just a horizontal slider which gives you audio feedback as you adjust it.
