The removal of allowing any Developer may be a good idea if you are prompted
when opening an unknown Developer, you have been advised and can make your
choice at that point.

Has anybody else noticed that with the upgrade to 10.13.4 those mysterious
login pannel announcements have turned into login screens where you do have
to enter your password again. Be careful; if you have been away from your
computer you might not realize that window is up and then you may command-tab
and just get a dinging sound and wonder what has gone wrong with your
computer. I am going to go into System Preferences and see whether they have
just changed this or whether an actual setting has been changed. Btw I failed
to mention earlier that in security you can no longer choose "any developer"
or whatever; your choices are something like Apple and Apple and known
developers. This happened in an earlier upgrade but at the time I didn't
bring it to anybody's attention.
