A few years ago I asked a bunch of tuner app developers to build one, the dude
from Hot Paw came through. If you search for Hot Paw talking tuner you’ll find
it. You’ll need to know the notes you’re tuning to, as it’s a chromatic tuner.
I use it in conjunction with my Boss tuner that beeps when it is in tune, as my
bass plugs directly into that one. I figure when they agree it’s as good as it
gets. I keep my IPhone tuner set to 2 cents threshold.
I can’t remember if the IPhone 6 has a regular headphone jack, when I used the
tuner with my 5s I used headphones so I could more easily hear the results. If
you use headphones it’s a good idea to have ones without a microphone, or else
make sure your guitar is close enough to the headset mic to pick up the notes.
