Not an answer to your question but although I see a lot of posts on this list about GPS navigation and the various apps that people have success with I wonder whether many people are at the stage of walking around with them? I ask as I have a Trekker which I quite liked although I changed to another on my mobile which had a map and a few other things I like. I found I had to press more keys than the Trekker to get to items I needed, such as to record a faviourite but the trade off was worth it for me. So I'm thinking I'd found it a step in the wrong direction to start using a touch interface while moving. This isn't a statement, I can't try it for myself as I only have an iPod Touch but I would be interested in people's views from actual users.
