Thanks for responding. I have figured out how to save the original message in either .rtf or .txt format, bt I think you're right: I can't add an attachment to the end of the message in one of those two formats. Thanks for your help though.

What you're asking is if you can change its file type directly from the save dialog? You can seemingly change the file type if you are renaming a file by hitting enter on it.
