Hello all,
a few months ago I bought a Yamaha Avant Grand hybrid piano just for practicing
at night or early in the Morning when I can’t use my regular Bösendorfer, and
the other day I realized it had midi in and out connectors. In the middle of
concerts etc it’s always fun for me to work on random projects, so I bought a
USB midi interface, and also purchased Logic Pro X from the Apple store as well
as a very nice convolution Reverb plugin that’s often used in classical music
recordings, called Altiverb. I’m using all of this with my 11 inch Macbook air,
with an I7 processor and 8GB RAM. For the time being I don’t even know exactly
what I’m doing with this other than trying to learn Logic, but I have a nice
grand piano, the hybrid piano, 4 microphones and an Apogee Quartet to try and
make some kind of music :). So now here come my questions:
1. Is it possible to accurately edit regions in Logic? Meaning can I cut and
paste audio from one place to another being very precise and using crossfades
to make things stick together properly?
2. How do I move and resize regions using VoiceOver?
3. How about third-party plugins such as Altiverb? It seems like it’s not
accessible, when I use both the VST plugin and the Audio Unit. Any suggestions?
4. Is it possible to use automation in an accessible way?
5. On other DAWs i’ve used before I could always see a master track. Where is
that in Logic?
I’m sorry in advance for asking so many things. Thanks everyone!
