smart lists can help too. If you want iTunes to do automatic searching for you those can be as easy as putting in a search string like "folk music podcast" in the smart list creation dialog then saving the smart list.

This is good to know. I have fits getting new podcasts to download,
though-especially the ones I've subscribed to via audible. I have to
manually go fetch them. Is there some setting I need to enable?

Thanks.

Hi Scott, I personally use ITunes for pretty much everything I need. I
just listened to the LightHouse presentation on affordable tech, with it.
It was held in San Francisco today and was streamed live over the web, so as
I'm in LA, I caught it that way.

In Itunes, there is an option in the Advanced menu which will bring up a
dialogue where you can type in a direct url to open a stream.

As for podcasts, -iTunes again; I have *very* many casts that I'm subbed
to, and, as I have limited time most days, I have far too many to keep up
with all at once. ITunes allows me to really quickly and easily search and
isolate only the casts I'd like to go through to see if there's anything I'd
like to listen to for a few minutes or pick up where I left off on one. I
would *definitely not* want to try to arrange that much material myself!
lol! So, for me, ITunes is a great solution.

Hope this helps and have an awesome weekend!.

Smiles,

Cara :)

HI all.

Just wondering, what do most of you use to listen to streaming audio on a
mac?

I know you can use Itunes to listen to radio but I don't think you can have
an m3u playlist in Itunes can you?

If not, would you use something like vlc or something similar?

Also what do you all use to listen to podcasts on the mac?

Is it Itunes or do you all use something else?

Thanks.
