About a week or so ago, I sent a query around about about whether or not users
were having trouble with Mail; specifically, that the “new mail,” sound
wouldn’t play, and the spell-check window wouldn’t stay maximized long enough
to fix errors. As was reported by another list member, the New Mail sound is
back with the latest upgrade. However, the spell-check window still doesn’t
stay in the foreground to make corrections; I can spell-check manually, but
automatically, it pops up and then back down. Like quantum foam …
Here’s another weirdness I can’t explain. For the last few builds of OS 10
point whatever, every time I wake up my Macbook Pro, I get a notification,
“Mail password required,” for my Gmail account. When I enter in the password,
System Preferences freezes; in fact, it’s frozen now, won’t let me quit. You
will notice, however, that this message came from my Gmail account, to the
list, and was sent from my Macbook Pro. I also get multiple “Sign-in attempt
prevented,” messages from Google, when I check my Gmail inbox. Anyone got an
explanation and/or fix for this?
Thanks; be well, and happy Groundhog day!
