Cheryl, can you remind what you mean by converting your Kindle books? I have a
recollection of it being mentioned before but can’t tap that brain section.
What format do you convert to and what’s the process?
Ian.

Yes, apparently the application was updated, perhaps at some point when I
opened it or had a book sent to it. The version number is 1.19.146083 and for
me it was updated on February 14th. Valentines' Day present?!

No, I hadn't deliberately downloaded a new version.

Hi Cheryl,
That is interesting. Have you recently downloaded a new version of the Kindle
app? I know there is a version in beta for the PC which greatly improves
accessibility over there, or so I hear. Since I don't have it, I can't
testify personally. But others say it's much better and actually works with
one screen reader, nvda. So I'm wondering if you got a new version of the
Kindle for Mac. I am pretty sure I deleted that, because it was totally
worthless the last time I tried it.

I just bought a new Kindle book. In preparation for converting it, I opened
the Kindle app on my Mac. To my total shock, a book I must have previously
loaded started reading. In a way I am not surprised because I have seen some
signs that areas of the Kindle app were more readable. cmd-t toggles speech
on and off and I think maybe it uses your system voice. I haven't figured
out if there is any way to actually navigate or not.
