Sara, the finder also has an 'open with' option. Simply ctrl click the file and you'll see it in the context menu. To assign a default program to a file, do a command-I on it and you'll see a few options for doing this. Sorry I can't go into more detail at the moment. Am on my way out. Well let's say I want to open this txt file in nisus writer. How do I do that quickly from the finder without going to nisus writer, choosing open and trying to plough my way through the open dialogue? I am thinking of something like the open with option in windows explorer but as I understand, the mac might not do things the same way.
