hmmm, I have had some trouble with that app, its hard for me to get
things so that all four edges are visible to the camera, according to
the point-of-view button, usually its top right edges or sometimes just
top which is strange to me.

I use KNFB Reader quite often and it generally works very well. In my
experience it’s very good for reading mail and pretty much any restaurant
menu or printed text on paper. For identifying cans, food items etc I
strongly recommend Tap Tap See, which gives scarily accurate descriptions of
any picture you throw at it. A good thing about KNFB Reader is that it does
not require internet access, and it works with quite a few languages. I
travel a lot by plane, and recently started distracting myself during flights
by reading the on-board magazine with my iPhone. It’s not perfect, but
works well enough for me to forget that I take way too many flights every
month…

Hi Ian,
I have the Knfb reader and I love it. I use it just about every day to read
my mail, food directions, other documents as well. It's pretty accurate and
getting used to the camera doesn't take much practice. There is also a
stand me just for the iPhone to go with the app. It's available on Amazon.

Now that I've got an iPhone with the processor to run it, I'm looking at
the KNFB reading app again. I'm wondering if anyone has any real world
experience they can share. How close to real time can you read with it,
would it be able to read for example the cards in a game like trivial
pursuit?
