Hi,

why not use the search feature in mail?  Press command option F to be brought 
to the search field then type in the name of the sender or their e-mail 
address.  Then press the down arrow to filter through the choices in which you 
want to search to be based on.  For example, subject.  Press enter then 
navigate back to the messages table.  Here you will be presented with the 
results.
