No worries, the two methods are:
Highlight the word and use the VO shift M context menu.

Activate spell checker with command shift semi-colon. This brings up a dialogue
with a table of suggestions you can interact with, or the option to learn the
word etc.

not seeing it so I missed how to access the menu to add a word to the
