in vo, you can turn on vo select with vo keys-return but often, you need to
be interacting withe text you want to select.

Well that's what it sounds like voice-over is saying smile, it doesn't sound
like it is the same feature as the virtualising windows feature found in
Jaws. In jaws, you can be on a screen, press a key combo and a dialogue box
will pop up presenting the screen where you can use any of the navigational
keys to view it and then you can copy any part of that screen onto the
clipboard.
